Robinho looks set to make his comeback for Manchester City against Hull on Saturday.
The Brazil forward has not played for the club since August after suffering a stress fracture of the ankle.
However he joined up with his country earlier this month and City first-team coach Eddie Niedzwiecki believes that may have helped Robinho's progress.
"Robi is looking really good," he told the Manchester Evening News. "Things are looking very promising for him in terms of the weekend and he should be up for selection.
"We are pleased, after all the speculation when he went with Brazil, he didn't play for them because he wasn't ready.
"He had good training and good treatment with them and has come back to us looking sharper by the day."

I think Robinho will be fired up for Saturday (if only to put himself in the transfer shop window!) and Hull are very very poor, Doesn't like the winter? Two goals and two assists at the same fixture last year! December 26th 5-1 Win, Phil Brown's half time tantrum. Do people forget these things?
Paul g - spot on. He scored 15 or something last season with 7 or 8 assists. Who's going to do that this year?
As for Saturday - why should anyone expect City to win. Hull have won 4 to City's 5! They have shown all season that they can't cope with sides who get stuck in and don't give them time. Their 'tactics' never stretch sides with much much weaker players because the ball is moved too slowly. City only seem to score when thay are already losing and, like last season, when they are ahead or even level they sit back and defend instead of capitalising. No wonder they haven't recorded a big win all season unless you count Scunthorpe or Southend whoever it was.
There is only one problem at City and it isn't Robinho.
Hull will take city apart this weekend. 7th draw...i dont think so. Jimmy Bullard will show M. Hughes up completely.
Hughes woeful tactics will be highlighted on saturday and city will creep down the table.
you lot dont know a class player.
Robinho is awesome.
[the mark hughes blame game trundles on and robbie is clearly for the chop.]
He scored goals last season
He will always score goals but he needs the service, the correct formation and tactics.
IF YOU WANT A CHICKEN RUNNING AROUND LOOK ELSEWHERE. Robinho is a forward who produces when given the opportunity.
The same crowd slagged off Anelka when he was at city. Look at Nicky now.
Get rid of him in January bad attitude no commitment
Loan him out to Accrington Stanley until he's gone
I dont think it matters how he plays now. Its way past the point of no return for him with City. He`s shown no respect for our club. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth that he`s still with us. Hope he scores a few goals and helps us win a few games over the christmas. Then we sell him straight to the highest bidder. He can try and have his ` one man show ` where people want it. Its not in manchester!!
Being a city supporter i dont know how to take this ,it is now getting into the winter and we all know most south americans dont like playing in theses kind of conditions i make an exception for some of our Argentina players, but Robiniho? and we have got some right cloggers of teans coming up,Stoke,Bolton,Hull, they will kick him off the park ,and he will go missing in matches probably pick up another injury that will keep him out until the spring just too get enough games in before he goes off to the world cup,
He can start by scoring some goals, working harder for the team and then maybe we City supporters can start believing he is worth all that money.
