Waddock hails Chairboys commitment

Wycombe boss Gary Waddock hailed his side after they picked up their second win in three days with a 1-0 success against 10-man Brentford.

Chairboys striker Matt Harrold did the damage by slotting home from the penalty spot in the 47th minute after former Chelsea defender Michael Duberry's goalbound header was handled by Karleigh Osborne.

However, the former Bees frontman should have made it two when James Wilson saw red for hauling down Gareth Ainsworth 20 minutes later but saw his second penalty saved by Bees goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.

"You saw the commitment from the players and I think it summed the game up in the end," said Waddock. "They did everything to block shots at goal in the 95th and 96th minutes and they were prepared to do that.

"We are in a situation at the moment where we have got to do that week in, week out and we are.

"Brentford are a strong side and two clean sheets against them and Millwall now gives us a good base to win football matches."
