FC Groningen striker Erik Nevland has hit out at the club for refusing to let him join Fulham in a £1million transfer. The Eredivisie outfit have already rejected a bid of 1.5million euros from the London club for the former Manchester United player.
Negotiations are still ongoing, but Nevland insists Groningen's valuation of him is wildly optimistic.
He told Dagblad van het Noorden: "The offer that Fulham made is absolutely high enough. Do I feel angry towards FC Groningen? I don't want to answer that."
Groningen have recently seen defender Bruno Silva defect to Ajax after the player refused to turn up for training, and Nevland believes such an attitude appears to be the only way to get a move away from the club.
He added: "How I will act? I will not react like Bruno Silva did but it looks as if that is the way to do it to get away."
But Groningen coach Ron Jans insists the frontman will only be sold on the Dutch club's terms.
He said: "Fulham have to do better than they did earlier on this week and have to come in with a serious bid for Erik.
"Their first bid shows little respect to us and to Erik.
"But I have heard the clubs will talk again. Maybe Fulham now know what they have to do if they want Erik Nevland."
