Italy defender Christian Panucci has asked to leave Roma after refusing to go on the bench for Sunday's 3-0 win at Napoli.
The 35-year-old - in his eighth season with the Giallorossi - is no longer a guaranteed starter under boss Luciano Spalletti, and is looking to move somewhere to end his career playing regularly.
The former Milan and Real Madrid player admits that he is yet to hear of interest from any clubs either at home or abroad, but with less than a week of the January transfer window remaining the two-time Champions League is hopeful he can move soon.
"I want to leave without any controversy," said the 35-year-old.
"I have understood that there is no longer confidence in me. I don't want to think about retirement. Staying in Italy or going abroad is the same for me, up to now I have heard from no one."
