Aston Villa striker Emile Heskey and midfielder Stephen Ireland are winning their battles to be fit for Sunday's FA Cup clash with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.
The duo are set to return to full training on Friday after recovering from Achilles and hamstring setbacks respectively after working with club fitness coach Adrian Lamb.
Manager Alex McLeish said: "Stevie and Emile trained separately with the fitness coach and they came through that well.
"They will join up with the full squad [on Friday] and Saturday in preparation for Arsenal."
Agbonlahor has also shaken off the stomach bug which forced him to be substituted at half-time against Wolves last weekend.
But winger Charles N'Zogbia (heel) remains a fitness doubt as Villa await the results of his visit to see a specialist.
