Nottingham Forest boss Colin Calderwood believes Lewis McGugan has the potential to be "fantastic" but insists he "has to keep learning".The 19-year-old midfielder recently signed a contract which will tie him to the City Ground until 2011 and Calderwood admits he has been impressed by the youngster's ability to deliver in the big games.
He told the Nottingham Evening Post: "He has a lot to do still, there is a lot of improvement to come from him, if I am honest, but potentially he looks fantastic. He has thrived in the big games.
"Against Huddersfield, for example, he came up against an experienced pro but he controlled the game and had a major impact. He has to find a consistency to his game. He does things that are different to any other midfielder and he is growing and developing.
"I desperately hope he thinks the same as me, in the sense that he still has a mile to go when it comes to the improvements he can make. He could be anything at all. But he has to keep learning."
Meanwhile, Forest's League One trip to promotion rivals Carlisle has been rearranged for Tuesday 1 April, with kick-off at 7.45pm.
