Tottenham Hotspur full-back Pascal Chimbonda has apologised for his behaviour when he was substituted in Sunday's Carling Cup finalChimbonda reacted angrily to being replaced during the second half of Spurs' 2-1 extra-time win over Chelsea.

With Spurs trailing to Didier Drogba's free-kick, Chimbonda was taken off in favour of Tom Huddlestone just past the hour mark.

The France international headed straight down the tunnel upon being substituted, but has now apologised to his team-mates.

"I was annoyed at being taken off in such an important match," said Chimbonda in The Sun.

"But the manager has explained his reasons and I have apologised to my team-mates for my behaviour.

"They understand and everything is fine."
