FA hit Clarets with £10,000 fine

Burnley have been fined £10,000 by the FA after two of their players were sent off during the controversial defeat against Preston in December.The Turf Moor encounter - which North End won 3-2 - saw Clarets midfielders Chris McCann and Joey Gudjonsson shown straight red cards for ill-judged challenges.

McCann was dismissed after he scythed down Preston defender Sean St Ledger with a two-footed tackle in the 64th minute, while substitute Gudjonsson was sent off in the closing stages for a challenge on Neil Mellor.

Burnley admitted breaching FA Rule E20 (a) - failure to ensure players and/or officials conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and have been warned as to their future conduct.
