Jenas urges Fabio to look at duo

Tue 26 Feb, 09:30 AM

Jermaine Jenas says England coach Fabio Capello should take a look at Tottenham defensive duo Ledley King and Jonathan Woodgate.

King and Woodgate enhanced their chances of establishing themselves in the England side with impressive performances in Spurs' Carling Cup final win over Chelsea in front of the on-looking Capello.

The duo have struggled for fitness in recent seasons, but Jenas believes the pair could easily become regulars in Capello's plans.

"I cannot speak highly enough of how good our two centre-backs are. These two can easily be England regulars," Jenas told The Sun.

"They are both world-class players. Woody has come to a new club but he has fitted in so quickly.

"It has been a long road for Ledders in terms of his injury problem.

"He was very emotional after the game but we all were. He has not played as many games as he would like but it's great to have him back."

Jenas, who scored for England in Capello's first game in charge, believes Spurs could provide the Italian with a number of players.

"The thing about Spurs is that quite a few of us are English lads," added Jenas.

"Apart from myself, there's Tom Huddlestone, Robbo in goal plus Aaron Lennon, Michael Dawson - and the two other centre-backs.

"We spoke of England's disappointment at exiting the Euros and English football was questioned. But look at our team - there are good players here who are English."
