Stockport defender Michael Rose insists he is keen to continue taking penalties - despite his miss against Accrington last weekend.County have not had a designated penalty taker since Anthony Elding's departure to Leeds and Rose assumed responsibility against Stanley.

Accrington goalkeeper Kenny Arthur saved Rose's 51st-minute spot-kick but that has not deterred him from stepping up from 12 yards again in the future.

Rose told the club's official website: "I've been taking a few in training and we need a penalty taker as Elds (Elding) used to take them.

"I stepped up and missed. I'd be quite happy to stay on them but I think the lads will have something to say about that."
