Toure Hopes To Face Milan

Tue 26 Feb, 12:10 PM

Arsenal defender Kolo Toure hopes to be fit for next week's Champions League clash away to AC Milan - and has warned the Gunners are confident of qualifying.

Centre-back Toure is struggling with a calf injury he picked up in last week's last-16 first-leg clash against AC Milan which ended goalless - and he missed Saturday's 2-2 Premier League draw with Birmingham at St Andrews.

The Ivory Coast international says he is likely to miss this weekend's visit of Aston Villa, but is confident he will be fit in time to make the trip to Italy and believes Arsenal can dump the holders out.

"I should be a bit short for Saturday against Aston Villa, however against Milan, fingers crossed, I will be fine," said Toure.

"We are going there to qualify, Milan will be favourites in their stadium, however we have already won there heavily so they will be ready for us.

"We beat Inter 5-1 in the San Siro so we can do it to their fierce rivals."

Toure also revealed that he dreams of tackling his brother Yaya of Barcelona in this season's Champions League final.

The 26-year-old would love the opportunity to face his younger sibling in the showpiece event and he admits Barca's star-studded side would provide a stiff test for Arsenal.

"It will be a great day for the Toure family, but big brother should win so everyone in the family could be happy," added Toure.

"However I must say Barcelona have a formidable foursome - Henry, Eto'o, Ronaldinho, Messi, however we are not bad as well."
