Lithuania striker Andrius Velicka has left Hearts to join Norwegian side Viking FK in a £1 million deal.

Velicka, 28, was on-loan from FBK Kaunas, also owned by Hearts chief Vladimir Romanov.

"I like what Viking have come forward with, plus the facilities and stadium are very good," Velicka said after the move.

"I enjoyed being at Hearts, but going to another team is now just part of a footballer's life."

Hearts caretaker boss Stephen Frail could not hide his disappointment at losing one of the club's top players.

"He is our top goalscorer, that alone is a loss," Frail admitted.

"I am not going to sit and dwell on it, we need to look forward."

The player scored 14 goals so far in the SPL this season and teams up with former Manchester City striker Uwe Roesler, who is now coach of Viking.
