Int Football - Sinclair eyes England call

Scott Sinclair is hoping his impressive displays for Birmingham will attract the attention of England Under-21 manager Stuart Pearce.

FOOTBALL Championship Birmingham Scott Sinclair - 0

The Chelsea winger, on loan at St Andrew's for the rest of the season, is yet to feature for the national team at Under-21 level, mainly due to his bit-part role while at Stamford Bridge.

But now he is at Blues and looking to fire the club towards promotion, he is also hoping his displays could earn him a place in a set-up that already includes a wealth of Championship players.

"It is disappointing not be involved in the U21s but when you're at Chelsea and you're on the bench then you're not going to be playing and it doesn't make a difference how many people rate you," he said.

"If you're at Chelsea and you're coming on for five or 10 minutes then Stuart Pearce is not going to pick you.

"But when I'm here and hopefully playing well then maybe I'll get a call up. If I can just keep my head down and keep working hard then hopefully I'll get my chance when I've proved myself. I need to keep going."
