Highlights - and lowlights - in the career of Bath and England forward Matt Stevens.
1982: October 1 - Born in Durban, South Africa.
2002: September - Joins Bath. Had previously learnt his trade at Kearsney College in his homeland and played for the Springboks at under-18 and under-19 level.
2003: Plays for England in the World Under-21 Championships.
December - Replaces the injured Phil Vickery in the England XV for the non-capped match against New Zealand Barbarians at Twickenham and scores a try.
2004: June 12 - Makes his full England debut as a substitute against New Zealand in Dunedin. Also comes off the bench in the second Test a week later.
2005: February 27 - Makes first start for England in an RBS 6 Nations clash with Ireland at Lansdowne Road, aged 22, despite having only begun 10 matches for club Bath. Andy Robinson's side lose 19-13.
April 11 - Selected for the British Lions squad to tour New Zealand but does not feature in the Test matches.
May 12 - Signs a new three-year contract with Bath.
2006: March 16 - Ruled out of Six Nations clash against Ireland with a shoulder injury.
April - Undergoes shoulder surgery. Does not return to action until January 2007.
June 6 - Finishes second, behind Lucy Benjamin, in Celebrity X Factor.
2007: September to October - Plays in all seven of England's matches as they make it through to the Rugby World Cup final, where they are defeated by South Africa.
2008: February 1 - Signs new four-year contract with Bath.
2009: January 20 - It is revealed Stevens failed a drugs test after a Heineken Cup match against Glasgow Warriors in December 2008.
February 26 - Stevens is banned for two years.
