Liban Abdi secured a largely second-string Sheffield United side a 1-0 win in a friendly against Ferencveros in Budapest on Wednesday. The match marked the Blades' recent takeover of the once-mighty Hungarian side, with a 7,000-crowd inside the Florian Albert stadium.
Abdi headed home Jon Stead's cross in the 10th minute, while United goalkeeper Ian Bennett and defender Ugo Ehiogu were both in impressive form.
United bought the Hungarian second division club in February, to add to their stakes in Chinese club Chengdu Blades and Royal White Star Woluwe FC of Belgium.
On-loan Reading defender John Halls also featured for a predominantly reserve-team line-up and is pushing for his first start in Kevin Blackwell's side at Preston on Saturday.
