Play-off-chasing Plymouth Argyle have banned two supporters for life for making racist remarks during the Championship game against Watford.A statement from the club explained the reasons for the sanctions against the fans, following their behaviour during the home match with Watford.

It read: "Two people in the vicinity of the Watford dug-out on Saturday will be banned indefinitely from all Argyle home games and any other events at Home Park for making racist remarks towards Watford players and officials during the 1-1 Championship draw.

"This follows an internal inquiry that considered all the facts already in our possession, which included evidence provided by our own supporters.

"The club has also decided to implement, without delay, a supporters' exclusion zone behind the visiting dug-out."

Plymouth chief executive Michael Dunford added: "As we have consistently said, there is no place at Home Park for racism, or, indeed, any form of antisocial behaviour.

"We have excluded people for racism before and had no hesitation in taking this action once we satisfied ourselves of Saturday's events.

"I would like to thank the Argyle supporters who came forward to identify the culprits."
