Coleman cautious over new arrivals

Wed 26 Mar, 02:30 PM

Coventry manager Chris Coleman admits he is being forced to play a waiting game as the deadline for loan signings looms large.Football League clubs will not be permitted to sign new players after 5pm on Thursday, and Coleman has only made two loan signings in the loan window, Portsmouth full-back Richard Duffy and Manchester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

"We have got players we know we want and who we are trying to get but whether we get them is another thing," said Coleman.

"We have made contact with the clubs and the players and we are waiting to get them in. We have worked hard watching players and taken in a lot of games in the last week, probably a dozen overall.

"There are two things running parallel. We are looking at what we can get to help from now until the end of the season and, once we are there, we want to go and cherry pick in the summer and say 'this is what we are going with'."
