Aberdeen's on-loan defender Dave Bus has been told his contract with Dutch side De Graafschap will not be extended when it expires this summer.De Graafschap handed Bus a three-and-a-half-year deal in January 2005, but have decided his wages make the 29-year-old too expensive to keep.
Bus was out of favour at De Graafschap when he moved to Aberdeen in January, since when he has featured in four matches for the Dons.
De Graafschap are now ready to part company with the centre-back on a permanent basis.
"Dave got a really good contract," director Han Berger told newspaper De Gelderlander.
"That contract didn't fit well with the club's wage structure, to be honest.
"With this contract he should now be one of the key players, but in the last two seasons he has hardly played a match.
"If I didn't end the contract before April 1, the contract would have automatically been extended. We didn't want to see that happen."
