Lisbie relief for struggling Us

Wed 26 Mar, 07:00 PM

Geraint Williams has been boosted by the news that Colchester's top scorer Kevin Lisbie could be fit for the trip to West Brom on Saturday.Reports had suggested the striker, who has 15 goals so far this season, could be out for up to a month with a calf injury after he limped out of the Us 5-1 defeat to Norwich last weekend.

But Lisbie has been given a clean bill of health by the club's medical staff.

Williams told the club's official website: "Kevin came off on Saturday after he felt his calf stiffen and we didn't want him risking further injury.

"He has been getting treatment over the past few days and we are expecting him to train before the end of the week with a view to him being available for the game against West Brom."
