Moore confident of play-off place

Wed 26 Mar, 05:15 PM

Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore believes his side still have a "great opportunity" to make the play-offs despite slipping out of the top six.Rovers suffered a 2-1 defeat at struggling Bournemouth on Monday and Moore has called upon his side to get their promotion push back on track, starting with a third successive home victory over Swindon on Friday.

He told the Liverpool Echo: "Bournemouth was a big disappointment but it wasn't a disaster. We still have a great opportunity to make the play-offs. We've got to bounce back from a setback like that and put things right.

"We have a game against Swindon on Friday and we have to play three of the teams who are close to us in April. The games against Walsall, Nottingham Forest and Southend next month are going to be massive fixtures for us.

"We will have to perform much better than we did at Bournemouth. We got ourselves into a great position going into that game, then let ourselves down and the supporters down."
