Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp will rest any players with fitness doubts against Wigan as the FA Cup semi-final against West Brom looms.French midfielder Lassana Diarra is the prime example, having missed last Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Tottenham with continuing hamstring trouble.

Redknapp, who insisted £5million signing Diarra should be spared international duty against England, explained: "Hamstrings are dangerous things - and I can't take a risk with him.

"Lassana had to report to the French team but he was not available for them. He has had a scan on the injury, and we will look at him again before Saturday."
