Gillingham manager Mark Stimson will hand Coventry striker Donovan Simmonds the trial chance to earn a loan move to Priestfield this week.Stimson is desperately trying to bolster his attacking options as his side battle to stave off the threat of relegation.
And Simmonds - a 19-year-old forward who has yet to make a senior appearance for the Sky Blues - could be one of several players arriving at the club before the loan window closes on Thursday.
"We'll be trying to improve the squad," said Stimson.
"We need goals to keep us up so if somebody I am interested in becomes available, then we'll take them.
"Donovan Simmonds will train with us on Wednesday and Thursday so we have to make a decision on Thursday if we want to turn that."
