Sturrock still hopeful over Fallon

Plymouth Argyle boss Paul Sturrock is hoping Rory Fallon could yet face Coventry on Saturday after scans on the striker's ankle were positive.Fallon suffered an ankle injury during the closing stages of the 1-1 draw with Watford but could still figure in Sturrock's side if a scan does not reveal ligament damage.

"Fallon has been scanned and he's got severe bruising but we will give him every opportunity for Saturday," said Sturrock. "We are pleased that he has not broken anything. So now it's about working to get the swelling down as soon as possible so that he can get started."

Utility player Jim Patterson is also in contention for a recall after turning in an impressive performance in the reserves' 4-0 home win over Bournemouth.

With Peter Halmosi suspended and Lee Hodges out with an ankle injury, Patterson could start down the left flank.

"I thought Jim did okay," added the Pilgrims boss. "He needed a game and knew it was important. He showed a fantastic attitude and played in two positions, so I am quite happy with him."
