World motor sport's governing body the FIA have approved a change of date for this autumn's Wales Rally GB.
The World Rally Championship finale was due to take place from November 27-30 but that would have clashed with a Wales rugby international at the Millennium Stadium on the Saturday.
The four-day event will now start on December 4 with the final stages on December 7.
Andrew Coe, chief executive of the rally's organisers International Motor Sports, said: "For the past two months we have been working closely with the major events teams in both Cardiff City Council and the Millennium Stadium to avoid a clash of these two major international events in the Welsh capital.
"They both require a huge amount of resources, such as accommodation, traffic management and facilities to welcome visitors from around the world.
"We are grateful to the FIA for agreeing to our request for a date change, which now allows us to plan the running of the 76th edition of this world-renowned rally in detail."
