Stoke could make moves for two more players before Thursday's loan deadline - and Fulham striker Diomansy Kamara is heading their wanted list.

The Potters have stuttered and stumbed back to the top of the Championship table in recent weeks - and boss Tony Pulis is determined to ensure that is where they remain by delving into the loan market for a final time.

Pulis has already boosted his forward line with the capture of Wolves striker Jay Bothroyd in recent weeks but the Welshman is also keen to add a natural goalscorer following a run of just three goals in six games.

David Nugent was close to a Britannia Stadium switch earlier this month before Portsmouth decided to hold on to the striker, so Pulis has been forced to look elsewhere in his hunt for more firepower.

Kamara is the latest player to appear on Pulis' radar and it is believed the 27-year-old was close to completing a move to the Potteries late last week, with Pulis himself admitting he was close to landing a player on Thursday.

The deal did not materialise in time for Saturday's draw against Blackpool as Fulham are reluctant to let the Senegal international leave as they fight against relegation from the Premier League,

However, Stoke are desperate to land the former West Brom star and with few other realistic options, they still hope to push the deal through before Thursday.

And City chief executive Tony Scholes revealed on Tuesday night that there may be more than one arrival this week, with chairman Peter Coates willing to push the boat out to ensure his side do not fall at the final hurdle in the promotion race.
