Teenager Alexandre Pato marked his international debut with an astonishing opportunist goal to give Brazil a 1-0 win over Sweden in a friendly at the Emirates Stadium.
The 72nd-minute strike was the one fitting moment of a match marking the 50th anniversary of Brazil's victory over Sweden in the 1958 World Cup final in Stockholm for the first of their five titles.
The 18-year-old chased Rami Shaaban towards the right touchline as the substitute goalkeeper looked set for an easy clearance and contrived to block it, swivel and send an exquisite left-footed lob into the unguarded net.
Starting keeper Andreas Isaksson had earlier made two saves in quick succession from Julio Baptista and Luis Fabiano, while Internazionale keeper Julio Cesar went down low to save Johan Elmander's downward header from a cross from the right.
Sweden were close again early in the second half with Julio Cesar diving to push out Sebastian Larsson's free kick from the left and the ball being cleared off the Brazil line from a corner a minute later.
Brazil playmaker Diego, put through by Pato just past the hour, had his legs clipped by substitute Mikael Dorsin inside the box as he went for goal but demands for a penalty were turned down.
Julio Cesar made a late point-blank save from Rosenberg who should have done better than shoot straight at the keeper as Sweden looked for an equaliser.
Coach Dunga's Brazil have now won two and lost one of their three friendlies at the Emirates after a victory over Argentina in 2006 and a loss to Portugal last year. They also beat Wales at White Hart Lane in 2006.
Poland 0-3 USA
Euro 2008 finalists Poland slumped to a 3-0 defeat by United States.
The Americans took only 12 minutes to go in front, Fulham defender Carlos Bocanegra nodding in a pass from Landon Donovan.
Another header by Oguchi Onyewu from a corner by Donovan made it 2-0 in the 35th.
The Americans continued to outclass Poland in the second half and Derby winger Eddie Lewis sealed victory with a spectacular 25-metre shot in the 73rd minute.
"What can I say? The second half was somewhat better than the first but we were just not well-prepared," said Poland's Dutch coach Leo Beenhakker.
Denmark 1-1 Czech Republic
A vintage strike by Jan Koller earned the Czech Republic a 1-1 friendly draw at Denmark.
The towering striker rose above Christian Poulsen in the 42nd minute to head home a Libor Sionko cross just inside the right post, beyond the reach of Denmark goalkeeper Thomas
Sorensen.
The Czechs dominated possession but created few chances, usually settling for speculative balls toward Koller in the penalty area. The Danes opened the scoring through Nicklas Bendtner, who calmly slotted the ball home in the 25th minute after a one-two with debutant Thomas Kristensen.
William Kvist almost won the match for the Danes in the dying minutes, but Czech keeper Jaromir Blazek was there at full stretch to stop his well-placed shot from outside the box.
The Czechs played without injured goalkeeper Petr Cech and midfielder Tomas Rosicky in their warm-up ahead of Euro 2008 in June, where they play in Group A against Portugal, Turkey and co-hosts Switzerland.
Romania 3-0 Russia
Romania beat Russia 3-0 in a friendly ahead of Euro 2008, for which both sides have qualified.
Goals from strikers Ciprian Marica, Daniel Nicuale and Marius Niculae gave Romania the win in a match they dominated against a Russian team drawn entirely from the domestic championship.
Stuttgart striker Marica opened the scoring from the edge of the area on the stroke of half-time.
Coach Victor Piturca took off Adrian Mutu and Cristian Chivu at the break and substitute Daniel Niculae made it 2-0 after 60 minutes. Inverness forward Marius Niculae scored the third with a header from Banel Nicolita's cross from the right in the 76th.
Belarus 2-2 Turkey
Middlesbrough striker Tuncay Sanli scored one goal and set up another to help Euro 2008 finalists Turkey draw 2-2 in Belarus.
Vitali Kutuzov gave the hosts a 34th-minute lead before Tuncay levelled with a low drive from the edge of the box three minutes later.
Vyacheslav Hleb, younger brother of Arsenal midfielder Aleksandr Hleb, put Belarus back in front with a solo effort in the 64th. Turkey again fought back as Tuncay laid on the equaliser for the unmarked Tumer Metin 19 minutes from time.
Montenegro 3-1 Norway
Montenegro's fledgling international career underwent a major boost when they beat Norway 3-1 in a home friendly.
Igor Burzanovic and Branko Boskovic put the hosts 2-0 up at half-time with goals on seven and 37 minutes, with Radomir Djalovic making it 3-0 on the hour.
Aston Villa striker John Carew pulled one back with 18 minutes remaining but the Norwegians could not exploit a one-man advantage after the 81st-minute dismissal of Milan Jovanovic.
