Giro d'Italia champion Danilo Di Luca has vowed to get revenge on Tour de France organizers ASO for excluding his LPR team from next month's Paris-Roubaix and Liege-Bastogne-Liege classics, which ASO also run.
"It means that sooner or later I'll get my own back by winning the Tour (de France)," the Italian cyclist, who won the 2007 Liege-Bastogne-Liege, told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Di Luca will defend himself from doping charges at a hearing in Rome next Tuesday, after Italy's anti-doping prosecutor requested the rider be given a two-year ban over allegedly abnormal results from tests taken during last year's Giro.
The abnormal result was returned after the 17th stage of the Giro from Linz in Austria to Monte Zoncolan on May 30.
