The 37-year-old defender will join the club until the end of the season as they go in search of promotion from League Two.

Wycombe currently lie in fourth just one point behind Gillingham and automatic promotion.

Bury have signed midfielder John Welsh on a one-month loan from Premier League side Hull City. The 25-year-old came through the youth ranks at Liverpool before moving to the KC Stadium in 2006 following a successful loan spell.

Welsh has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Tigers this season and boss Alan Knill was pleased to sign the former England U21 international despite missing out on another target.

"We are delighted to get John in and we've had to call in a favour to get him," Knill told the club's official website. "We've also missed out on another player. I've been speaking to them all week but the player has gone somewhere else. Thankfully Hull have let John come here."

Hull have allowed another player to go to League Two after Lincoln signed midfielder James Bennett on-loan until the end of the season.

Bennett, 20, played for Lincoln's reserve side in the 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday and impressed manager Peter Jackson.

Bennett, who has yet to appear for Hull's first-team, will stay at Sincil Bank until May 2.

Notts County have agreed to sign 19-year-old midfielder Matt Richards on loan from promotion-chasers Wycombe.

Richards, who spent a short spell on trial at Meadow Lane earlier this season, will remain with the Magpies until the end of the campaign.

The former England Youth international has yet to make an appearance for Wycombe but has been a regular in the Chairboys' reserve-team.

Preston goalkeeper Wayne Henderson will continue his return to fitness with Grimsby after extending his loan spell until the end of the season.

Henderson has been with the Mariners since late February and has seven appearances in total for the League Two strugglers.

Midfielder Dave Livermore has joined bottom-club Luton on a one-month loan deal from League One strugglers Brighton.

Bradford defender Simon Ainge has joined Blue Square Premier promotion-chasers Cambridge on loan until the end of the season.

Striker Cliff Akurang has joined Blue Square Premier strugglers Weymouth on a one-month loan deal from Barnet.
