Macca: Sending off marred win

Sat 26 Apr, 03:30 PM

Gary McAllister admits that his celebrations at Leeds securing a play-off spot were marred by Alan Sheehan's red card in the 1-0 win at Yeovil.Sheehan crashed into Yeovil's Lee Peltier after 64 minutes and after sorting out a melee involving practically every out field player, referee Keith Stroud produced a red card for the left back.

McAllister has no sympathy for his defender, saying: "He had to go. In this day and age you can't go flying in with two-footed tackles like that.

"It was disappointing but overall it was a good result and a good game.

"It was my first ever visit to this part of Somerset and it was good to find a pitch in such fine condition at the end of the season."
