Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale has revealed he is "seeking additional funding" after holding talks with potential investors.Ridsdale admits the Bluebirds' run to the FA Cup final has suddenly thrown them into the spotlight and made them a more attractive investment opportunity.
"As recently as two days ago we were in Barcelona talking to people with very deep pockets who want to buy football clubs," Ridsdale told BBC Sport Wales. "That's what we'll do this summer, I am actively seeking additional funding.
"Some people might want to invest, some people might want to take control, my job has always been to do the best job for shareholders in Cardiff City and our supporters. The FA Cup run has been superb because we've now got people talking to us who, perhaps, in the past would have been talking to other football clubs. Cardiff City is now a name on everyone's lips because we are in the FA Cup final."
Ridsdale has pledged to provide boss Dave Jones with the funds to bolster his threadbare squad and build a team which can challenge for a place in the top flight.
He added: "It's now time to move onto the next stage which is to try and inject cash into the squad so we can truly compete for a place in the Premier League. We want the best chance of giving Dave the opportunity to get into either the play-offs or automatic promotion next year."
