Dundee HSFP 29 Watsonians 33

Sat 26 Apr, 05:09 PM

Watsonians gave departing coach Cammy Mather a winning farewell but had to stave off a stirring fightback from the relegated Taysiders.

Mather's men looked on course for a runaway victory in the final clash of the Premiership when they opened up a 26-5 lead at the interval.

But Dundee refused to buckle and they produced some sparkling attacking rugby in a frantic second half.

Bernie Hennessy had given Watsonians the early advantage with a try, converted by Andy Skeen.

And further scores came from Dougie Brown, Andy Ker and another from Hennessy, with Mike Kerr replying for the hosts.

The tide turned as Ross Lemon, Graham Thomson, Kerr and Danny Levison went over for High, while Kerr completed his double for the Myresiders.

Skeen added the rest of their points, with Lemon and Barry Jones sharing the home side's boot duties.
