Mon 26 May, 01:30 PM

Brighton boss Micky Adams has assured fans that his side will be looking to push the big guns of League One for promotion next season. After Leeds' 1-0 defeat to Doncaster in the play-off final Adams believes that, along with relegated Leicester, they will go into the season as favourites but is hopeful his side will put up a genuine promotion fight.

He told the Bright Argus: "There is always hope for Brighton. Rest assured we will have a side that goes out to have a go. That will not change.

"The league has got tougher now. Although Doncaster are a good side everybody knows the spending power Leeds will have next season will make them favourites."

Adams also confirmed he is yet to decide on the future of those players who failed to make the retained list released by former manager Dean Wilkins.

He said: "It's still an ongoing thing. I will sit down with the chairman and talk about budgets."
