Grayson Plays Down Leicester Link

Mon 26 May, 08:09 PM

Blackpool boss Simon Grayson has described reports linking him with the vacant managerial job at Leicester as 'pure speculation'.

Leicester are searching for their sixth manager in little over 12 months after Ian Holloway was sacked last week following the club's relegation to League One.

Grayson would be a popular choice at the Walkers Stadium having played for the Foxes between 1992 and 1997, captaining City to League Cup success in his last season at the club.

Grayson has proved himself to be an adept manager during his time with Blackpool, taking the Seasiders from the depths of League One to the Championship and keeping them there.

"It is flattering to be linked with another job but it is pure speculation, that's all it is," Grayson told the Blackpool Gazette.

"I am fully focused on the summer ahead and getting the right players to Blackpool and trying to make sure that we survive once again in the Championship. All my plans are geared towards that and I have no thoughts for anything else.

"When players do well at a certain club and are successful then they are linked with other teams and it is the same with managers. It is just the way football is, but it doesn't mean it is going to happen."
