Zambrotta Keen On Milan Move

Mon 26 May, 12:09 PM

Barcelona defender Gianluca Zambrotta is hoping he will secure a move to AC Milan in the near future.

The Serie A side have expressed their interest in the 31-year-old to fill the void left by the departures of Serginho and Cafu.

Zambrotta is currently training with the Italy national team in preparation for Euro 2008 while representatives of both clubs discuss a transfer.

But the defender admits there is still some doubt over whether the move will go ahead.

"I still don't know what will happen," Zambrotta said. "I have a contract until 2010 but I know Milan and Barca have held talks, although I don't know anything definite yet.

"It is true that I am happy in Spain, but after a while you get the desire to return to your home country, or at least that has happened to me."

Milan are also reportedly in discussions with Barca over the possible transfers of Ronaldinho and Samuel Eto'o, and Zambrotta admits he would like to see both become Rossoneri players next year.

"Ronaldinho and Eto'o are both big champions and I hope I can keep playing with them both," he said.
