Burnley are looking forward to playing in the top-flight for the first time in 33 years after beating Sheffield United in the Championship play-off final.
Manager - Owen Coyle
"We've got a great adventure to look forward to. I think you've seen the effort the players gave today, it was great game, end-to-end - and we had chances to put the game to bed. We don't have quantity but I believe we have quality - I'm obviously delighted with what we've achieved today. I'm immensely proud and delighted for everyone in the town - but my heart goes out to Sheffield United."
Chairman - Barry Kilby
"I'm absolutely delighted. We've been out of the top flight for 33 years so today is the pinnacle of my 10 years as chairman. We've hung in in the Championship for 10 years, through good times and bad. We got our chance today and we've taken it. I think we'll be the smallest town to have ever been in the Premier League - and half the population has turned out here today to see it."
Goalscorer - Wade Elliott
"It's far and away the best goal I'll ever score, probably. It fell nicely, I couldn't really strike it because it was turning a bit and it seemed to take a long time to go in. When it did I thought about running up to my mum and dad but they were in the opposite corner and it was so hot!"
Man of the Match - Clarke Carlisle
"I'm privileged to be a member of this magnificent team. What a season, words can't describe how brilliant and awesome an achievement this is. I thank God so much, I'm blessed to be a part of this team. It's just unbelievable, what an awesome day."
Captain - Graham Alexander
"We had some great chances - especially in the second half - but Sheffield United are a great team - they kept coming back at us. I've been there twice (beaten in the play-offs) and it's horrible but they'll come back stronger. I'm going to celebrate and enjoy it for as long as possible."

Unless we have a clarets fan in Aussieland or Hawaii, I congratulate the clarets from most distant San Jose, California. Hope that somehow we can promote the spirit of the 60's and grow the team, not buy one. Good luck and hope to see you on your upcoming tour of USA, although I would like to change the dates. Reminds me of "What times the kick off " jokes.
I wrote after Birmingham were promoted about their plans to buy ten new players.. Why do promoted clubs do this year after year? They develop a team with team spirit, get promotion, just look at how the players celebrate, but next season a bunch of strangers have been brought in. Half the promoted players will get no more than a handful of games whilst completely unknown but expensive players will get the chances, get injured, find it difficult to adapt, often cause problems and that means a whole lot more come by the transfer window in January, there is no team spirit left and it's a struggle against relegation and the club heads towards huge financial problems. Will any promoted club ever have the courage to continue with a promoted team?
Will Burnley have the courage to stay with their "great team"? Will this team ever get the chance to play in the Premiership before being replaced by mediocre players who have failed elsewhere. In their earlier games in cup competitions this season gone by Burnley showed they can last against top quality opposition, give this team a chance in the Premiership.

Nice to read plaudits from fans of our nearest other Premiership clubs Blackburn & Bolton very much appreciated, see you next season.
Well doone Burnley, what a great game.
Just had a thought,....Burnley, Blackburn, and Bolton all in the Premiership,(not to mention MU, MC, Toffees, Liverpuddle,) ....and the only team Geordieland has is Sunderland :x anyway, excuse my little indulgence, but my "little" team is Rochdale, and I suppose my dream would be to see the Dale join those three in the Premiership one day, but somehow I think that will never happen in my lifetime! (and I said NOT to mention MU!)
Well done Burnley , looking forward to the big games at Ewood & at Turf Moor. From Rovers Riversider.
Was at Wembley yesterday with my family what an atmosphere what a day i will never forget it Come on you Clarets!!!!!!!! From Susie
my brother-in-law introduced me to the clarets in 1962,he was Burnley through and through. he passed away last year missing this great day.i hope they watch football in heaven, he would have been shouting the loudest
Well done Burnley! My dad will be jumping around on his cloud up in heaven right now. He used to take me to see Burnley every week when I was a kid, even though I supported Spurs. My most vivid memory was when Burnley beat Spurs 7-2, with Andy (B)Lochhead causing most of the damage, and Bill Brown letting in some very soft goals. (Between his legs; under his diving body, etc.) So just for you dad, when it rains today, I know it will be your tears of joy.
Well done Burnley !! - I am a Bolton supporter and I know how important Premiership football is to a town and its great to have another Lancashire side in the top flight - Good luck for next season !!
As a life long clarets supporter from the time of ray pointer and Conelly I an "over the moon" we are back where we belong in the top flight we proved with our club matches that we can compete with the best well done to the manager , players and all asociated with Turf moor.
