Keane lines up training camp

Tue 26 May, 11:26 AM

Ipswich manager Roy Keane will take his squad away to a training camp as part of their preparations for the new season.

Town have already lined up friendlies with Finn Harps, Brentford, Southend, Charlton and Colchester, with a clash against Cork City also in the pipeline.

Keane told the club`s official website: "I'm looking at getting six or seven friendlies in our pre-season schedule and we're looking at taking the players to a training camp as well.

"The players will have a long, hard season in front of them and it's important that our preparation is right.

"We need them peaking for the start of the season but it's also important that we get through the summer with no real injury problems."
