David Moyes has landed the League Managers Association's manager of the year award.
The Everton boss was honoured at a ceremony in Nottingham on Tuesday night after guiding Everton to fifth place in the Barclays Premier League and Saturday's FA Cup final against Chelsea.
Moyes achieved that despite relatively little spending in the transfer market, his £15million splurge on the highly successful Marouane Fellaini was the only major signing this season.
Moyes, who also won the award in 2003 and 2005, is the first manager to win it three times.
LMA chairman Howard Wilkinson said: "Since joining Everton, David has not only transformed the club's fortunes, he has also created a huge fan base, including many of his fellow managers.
"With only modest financial backing he has shown what can be achieved through discipline, dedication and an innate ability to get the best out of every player."
There were two awards for Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson, who was unable to attend as he prepares his side for Wednesday's Champions League final against Barcelona in Rome.
Ferguson won the LMA Special Merit Award for his success in the last year, starting with the Champions League title a year ago through to the club's 18th league title secured a little over a week ago.
He was also named the Barclays Premier League manager of the year by the Barclays Panel.
Keeping it in the family, Ferguson's son, Darren, was also rewarded with the League One manager's award after guiding Peterborough to promotion, while Wolves boss Mick McCarthy took the Championship award after winning the title.

Paul H, you are looking at one season for Hodgson, Moyes has done this year in year out, with injuries and no money to spend, Zola, and Rednapp(how much has he spent, after jumping ship with Pompey?). If you had a brain you would be dangerous, to yourself that is, give credit were it is due. Oh! one other point what would Chelsea, Liverpool or M.Utd have acheived on Moyes budget answer probably nothing, remember SAF inherited most of the players 20 yrs ago and was close to the push, so don't tell me how good he is, until he can do it on a shoestring.
Moyes Deserves it Everton where flirting with relegation every year before he arrived, now they are a regular to 6 side not bad for the Money he has spent.
Hodgson has done well - but Fulhams fortunes will turn next season as all the success was down to 1 signing, Hageland.... he's a gonner when he realises he can play for a big club in a big stadium not a championship club who play in a cottage FGS!
as for Zola and Rednapp... what was u watching this season? obviously wasnt football! Consistancy.... won it for Moyes
And a WHOLE team that would play till they drop for him!
COYB - GL for the Final!
Stitch up??? are you mad, he go us into the FA CUP FINAL and we beat Liverpool and Man Utd to do it. If thats not an achivement on its own i dont know what is. He has had less money than Redknapp and so finishing 5th is a big achivment for our club since we have had little money to do it with. Well done to the boys who stayed up this season who people thought would go down. Stoke, Hull.
totally agree while Moyes did a great job on a tight budget, Hodgson worked wonders with Fulham the only other candidate should have been Pulis who like Brown with my Hull City defied all the so called experts and guided Stoke to safety, thus destroying the myth that promoted clubs can't stay up, good luck to the new PL clubs and good riddence to Newcastle a club to big to go down !
I agree that Hodgson and Zola are both worthy candidates for the award, not so sure about Redknapp. To say David Moyes hasn't achieved because he got 5th again seems wrong and Everton whacking both Fulham and West Ham recently, with no more money than the two you mention seems enough to sway it his way. No stitch up there from my corner.
What about Roy Hodgson? these things are always pre determined. Everton always finish in the same place every season. how the hell is that an achievment compared to what Roy Hodgson has done at Fulham this season?
Even Zola or Redknapp would be more deserving.
Still, just another stitch up. like everything else behind the scenes in football.
