New Lyon boss Claude Puel has told suitors West Brom and Bolton that Czech Republic striker Milan Baros is part of his plans for the club.Puel has been assessing his squad since taking over from Alain Perrin earlier this month - and see Baros as a key first-team player.
The 26-year-old fell out of favour under Perrin's tenure and spent the end of last season at Portsmouth after moving to Fratton Park in January.
That prompted interest from Premier League new boys Albion and Gary Megson's Trotters, who were both linked with a £5million summer bid for him.
But they seem set to miss out now as Baros held crunch talks with the French champions this week - and was assured he has a future at the Ligue 1 club.
"Milan will report back to Lyon for pre-season training on July 14," said Baros' agent Pavel Paska.
Baggies boss Tony Mowbray has already signed strikers Luke Moore and Roman Bednar on permanent deals since securing promotion to England's top tier, and is reportedly close to signing Newcastle's Shola Ameobi for £2.5million.
Albion are also poised to sign Republic of Ireland youth international Lee Jay Lynch. The 16-year-old Limerick midfielder is expected to sign a two-year contract at The Hawthorns.
