Hartlepool have refuted reports that League One rivals Leicester have made an approach to lure defender Michael Nelson away from Victoria Park.Sky Sports News claimed the Foxes had made a bid to sign the 26-year-old as a replacement for Gareth McAuley, who joined Ipswich this month.

A statement on Hartlepool's official website read: "Contrary to reports on Sky Sports News, Hartlepool United have not received any official bids from Leicester City for defender Michael Nelson.

"The club will not be making any further comment at this time."
