American skier Libby Ludlow has retired from the World Cup circuit after six years.
The 27-year-old from Washington State had three top-10 super G finishes in the World Cup tour and finished ninth in that discipline at the 2007 World Championships in Are.
"The fact that I am healthy right now and can walk away from the sport healthy, happy and satisfied with what I've accomplished is what I've always wanted. It feels really good," Ludlow said.
Ludlow plans on taking the next year to complete her undergraduate degree at Dartmouth.
"Libby has been an incredible national team member, she has been an inspiration to her team-mates and to the ski racing community as a whole," said US alpine director Jesse Hunt.
