Premier League - Aguero agent denies United link

Eurosport - Fri, 26 Jun 19:23:00 2009

Sergio Aguero's agent claims he knows nothing about Manchester United's supposed interest in the Atletico Madrid striker.

FOOTBALL aguero get stripped Atletico Madrid - 0

Speculation is rife that United are set to use some of the £80 million they are due to receive from the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid to sign Aguero, while Chelsea, Barcelona and Inter Milan are also said to be interested.

Reports suggest United are preparing a 52 million euro (£44 million) offer, eight million less than the Argentina international's buy-out clause which Atletico president Enrique Cerezo insists any club will have to meet to persuade them to even think about selling.

However, Jose Segui believes it would still be difficult to prise Aguero away from the Primera Division side.

"I have no information about this offer from Manchester United," Segui told Calciomercato. "I have not been contacted by anyone, nor by other teams.

"I have not read president Cerezo's comment, the only thing I can say with certainty is that the player wants to stay at Atletico."

  9. all you all knowing fan or man united. your coach fargie knows what it is better for the club than u silly lots. fi you are watching the swedish game now, you will find out that campbel still need to gain more maturity to get a shirt in man you. look at his performance against sweden, too poor and he got two deserving yellow card =1 red card. lets have a look at berg, he is young and has been outstanding unlike those overated and inflated english players. the press are not helping the players to work out their real potentials . i am an enlish fans but think football is all about who plays better and not who is placed better or higher.

  13. Afternoon David, it would be good to see Hargreaves in the 11 again because his versatility can be utilised both in midfield and defensive areas, he scored a brama free kick 2007-08 season too. I agree Frazier Campbell would be a good lad to keep hold of too, but Berbatov's attitude and work needs to alter big style.

  14. Sack Fergie, are you mad? Three league titles on the bounce coupled with a Champion's League title, a Carling Cup title and other sundry bits of silverware all within a space of 3 seasons; how many trophies has Wenger's Arsenal won in the last 3 years? As for Berbatov, he needs to pull his finger out to even be worrthy of the number 9 shirt, let alone a place in the first team - he sucks big style!!! Macheda will be promising but more experience is needed.

  15. Comment 2: Scholes is too old now, despite being great in his time. He's not going to be a first team regular, so I would replace him with Anderson in your line up. Also, young Macheda is not ready yet to be a first team regular. If it was up to me, I'd keep Frazier Campbell, instead of selling him to Hull. I think he's a much better prospect. Hopefully, Hargreaves will come back from injury to repay Fergies faith this season.

    Waste of money!
I think United should sack Ferguson and bring in Wenger from Arsenal. That way, we'd play the type of slick, passing football that everyone wants to see.
