Phil Brown has asked Michael Owen for the chance to sell him a move to Hull.
The Tigers boss is yet to contact the 29-year-old former England international - and his club was not among those sent a glossy brochure outlining his qualities.
However, he is hoping to arrange face-to-face talks after Owen's Newcastle deal expires at midnight next Tuesday.
Brown told Sky Sports: "He is still connected to a football club, we haven't been given permission by that football club to talk to him, so we will honour that.
"But he will be available from July 1 and hopefully Michael will give us the time of day and we can get around a table, then who knows?
"Yes, it is one we are interested in. It isn't a throw-away comment, it is a genuine interest."

HUTCH youre a nob who looks like a puff - FACT
I would rather support Newcastle with a stadium called St. James Park than blunderland with a stadium called AHEM!!! I can hardly say it without laughing.... Stadium of light ha ha ha ha ha! If ever there was a stupid name for a stadium, then this is it lol! Only a mackem could have thought of it, got bless you, you sad bunch of retards. When god gave out head's, the mackem's thought he said shed's and all asked for large wooden one's he he he!
All these people asking why we are still on the yahoo eurosport premier league page should ask the Mackems on here for advice... after all, they have been in the championship plenty of times, they should know.
Thanks Mike, you know me so well.
HUTCH IS BENT=FACT
SUPPORTS A SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEITE TEAM=FACT
CANT TALK ENGLISH LIKE ALL THE OHTER GEORDIES======FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACT
the fog on the tyne is all mine
hutch = nob cheese... youfookwit
will ,if you look on our site it's full of mags,it's called rivalry and banter,I don't loathe mags I just don't like them.
I don't often log in and respond on here but there have been lots of nasty comments on here for months by mackem fans about Newcastle... yeah yeah... you are in the prem and we are not, we spent 16 years there... how long have you lot been there in total????.... if you love your team so much... get on your own F U K I N page, sing your own mis-guided praises and leave ours alone ok? We dont like you, we loathe you, we dont even want to chat to you ok? Get the message? No matter what, we (Newcastle fans) are Newcastle through and through. Through thick and thin, we love our club and will always be supporters of it. FACT!!!! Not like those so called Manchester United fans from all around the world who just support them cos they are at the top of their game. So so sad.... if it was (and I am speaking hypothetically here) the other way round, and Newcastle were the top club.... and MUFC were relegated... I just wonder how many so called MUFC fans would suddenly be NUFC fans? I bet most.
Hutch, you are correct, Mike must be a mackem fan, can't see the difference between an avatar and a real person.... short sighted, gloating mackem T W A T! Lots of truth in what Carl Garden, John Connoly (my fave author by the way), Cameron, Jack, Veteran and co said. Owen is well past his sell by date and never wanted to stay with Newcastle anyway, too busy sitting by the goal mouth not trying to battle for a won ball. The fact is that most of the over paid players on that field on the final day of the last season decided " I have a get out clause.... if Newcastle are relegated, we can leave without breaking our contracts" EVEN DUFF SAID IT!!! So hardly any of them played to full potential and that is why we were relegated FACT! If they all wanted to play for us, we would have stayed up! Lets face it, 4 strikers on the pitch and not ONEGOAL!!! (and only one goal would have done it and Hull (oh... the mighty Hull) would have went down and Newcastle would have stayed up... FACT!!!! What does that tell you eh?
Mike - It's an avatar and it's not me you fool. Do you have a grey square head and white eyes? Either way, you are still a prat - FACT.
Owen, there's a safe place for you: MLS
Hutch you look really gay FACT
Mike you are a prat FACT.
necastle are a sheeeeeeeeeeite team FACT Owen leaves them sad gits behind because he is better than they are FACT
the fog on the tyne is all mine all mine FACT
Tony C You are quite right mate Phil Brown should keep his money in order to pay the expected larger fee requested by ManU after Campbells U21 performance his latest Yellow/Red notwithstanding!
Why does Phil Brown want to sign Michael Owen? Surely Michael Owen is yesterday's news? Do Hull City really need him? Is there not more worthwhile signings out there?
He's too expensive, he's injury prone and hsn't had any decent first team football for a while!
No Mr Brown, don't sign 'driftwood, sign them if they want ths shirt!'
carl.garden. Well said mate.
Recently, I discovered a hot place -- W ealthyFinder Co- m- -- where many sexy singles who like sports and- chatting- there. I'm an open minded girl from UK, I- also like- discuss sports and love with handsome guys- on it.
michael owen was only interested in playing for england, he loved playing for newcastle that much he went on holiday to portugal in febuary, i know i was on the same plane, thats what i call the ultimate professional
He's made of cheese and more interested in his horses and on line poker, anyone who buys him is doing so on past plaudits not what he can do in the future which is limited to giving the physio team a good work out.
