Perez is back to his old ways, but­ there's no guarantee of success for Real. English­ teams have dominated international football the past­ few years and if Barca lost in the CL this year,­ nothing would be different. Real, Barca and sevilla are­ the only teams that can compete with the big 4 along­ with Everton and Aston Villa.

Ronan, you're quite wrong my friend. It's the­ reverse actually. Being a benchwarmer at Real Madrid­ will mostly certainly keep you OUT of your national­ side. Playing and most importantly PERFORMING on the­ first team of a good is crucial. Cesc would be making a­ huge mistake if he left Arsenal for Real Madrid (look­ at Hleb etc). With Arsenal, he'll start every game­ as long he's fit. With Real Madrid, not so sure. ­ I see the seduction of going to your home country­ playing for Real Madrid. But in the end, what matters­ most to a player is playing tim no matter where it is­ (eg Tevez to Man City, and Tevez WILL be on the­ Argentina team)

I also think it was ManU who made the offer. Although­ it makes intuitive since, I seriously doubt that­ Ancelotti had enough power at Chelsea this soon to be­ throwing that kind of money around for a player.
