Serie A - Melo 'going nowhere': agent

The agent of Fiorentina midfielder Felipe Melo claims the Brazil international has no intention of leaving the club this summer.

Melo is a reported target for a number of top European clubs with Arsenal heavily linked with a player who joined Fiorentina from Almeria for 8 million euros prior to the 2008-09 campaign.

But Emiliano Froldi is adamant the 25-year-old, who is currently on international duty at the Confederations Cup in South Africa, will remain in Florence for the time being.

"Felipe is happy at Fiorentina," Froldi told the calciomercato website.

"His family has adapted very well in Florence and right now his only focus in on the Confederations Cup."

Melo made 29 Serie A starts for Fiorentina last season and is under contract with the Viola through June 2012.

  7. i think is just an initial noise making,when the­ pressure is heavy he will have no option than to give­ up. To me i strongly belive that ARSENAL, will get him­ in some weeks to come unless the(arsenal) doesn't­ really want him.
