Fulham defender Toni Kallio believes the club are primed for an assault on next season`s Europa Cup.

The Cottagers' opponents for the third qualifying round will be announced on July 17 after Roy Hodgson's men enjoyed a fabulous 2008-09 campaign by booking a European place.

And Kallio is confident his side can progress through to the group stages thanks, in part, to a fabulous team spirit at the club.

"Hopefully we can take the momentum from the end of last season into the new one," he told the club website.

"We're confident that we can do well, but we have to be well prepared because there are some difficult teams in the competition.

"But I think it's a very positive experience for the club, the team-spirit is fantastic and that is one of the main reasons why we had such a great season."

  1. cant wait for this season to start . but must agree­ that while the fun starts in europe the real life is at­ home and to get to distracted from the real issue at­ hand[ getting established as a strong outfit in the­ prem] might be disasterous. but to try and not succed­ is not failure to not try at all is failure.

  3. fulham had a brilliant season and it would be great if­ they did well and progressed quite far in Europe. Well­ Done you whites.
