Eurosport-Yahoo! blogger Simon Reed believes people are entitled to get excited about Andy Murray, because he has a genuine chance of winning the tournament.
Murray's service was unbelievable against Ernests Gulbis, and he reduced his unforced errors to an absolute minimum.
It was a terrific performance from the Brit, but at the same time, I don't think Gulbis was ever going to threaten him significantly.
I maintain that the Latvian has not got the hunger to challenge the likes of Murray, and he often needs a good shake up to get going.
Despite that, Gulbis is still a good player and the number three seed had to raise his level from the first round in order to beat him.
Gulbis is a work in progress and it may well never be finished: he has a lot of talent, but he should ask himself some serious questions now.
He is 20-years-old and does not seem to be going anywhere; that would be a real waste of talent.
I know Lleyton Hewitt believes he is playing his best since 2005, but I don't believe he has a real chance of challenging at the business end of the tournament.
It was a terrific performance from the Australian in his victory over the fifth seed, Juan Martin Del Potro: it was like rolling back the years.
Hewitt has opened up that half of the draw considerably now, and it is looking much better for Andy Roddick and Murray.
I thought Del Potro could go through to the semi-finals, but he simply did not play well enough against Hewitt, and looked a shadow of himself.
Tomas Berdych was exceptional today against Paul-Henri Mathieu, and he is a very dangerous floater in that quarter of the draw after his victory.
Fernando Gonzalez was terrific today, and if he continues to play as he did against Leonardo Mayer, he could beat anyone.
The big question remains with the Chilean 10th seed: will his knee hold up?
He looked to be unrestricted in his movements against the Argentine, but the issues with his knee creep back in if he plays a five-setter.
The women's event has been pretty low-key, with the exception of Maria Sharapova being knocked out.
I do not think that any of the victories today by the top players were particularly significant to be honest.
Venus Williams put in a good performance in beating Kateryna Bondarenko of Ukraine, and she looks good despite the obvious wear-and-tear in her legs.
For me, Serena Williams has played by far the best tennis in the women's tournament so far, and she is certainly the favourite in my book.
It would be a super story if Caroline Wozniacki went all the way, and she played well in beating Maria Kirilenko, but I think the quarter finals will probably be as far as the ninth seed will go.
Looking ahead to tomorrow, I think Philipp Kohlschreiber could push Roger Federer.
The German is a match for anyone on his day, and it is sure to be a very attractive match, first up on Centre Court.
If Kohlschreiber plays at his best it could be very tight, but I do not see Federer losing the match.
It will be a very tough match for Jo-Wilfried Tsonga against Ivo Karlovic, and I could see that match potentially going the distance.
I have also got my eye on Robin Soderling, who represents a threat to Federer, and I see the Swede beating Nicolas Almagro of Spain.
Serena Williams will stomp all over Roberta Vinci of Italy on Court two, just as she did against Jarmila Groth on Wednesday.
It is onwards and upwards for Victoria Azarenka, and although I think it will be a good match against Sorana Cirstea, I think the eighth seed will be too strong for the Romanian.

i CANT STAND FEDERER AND HIS TITLES AND MR PERFECT CLOTHING RANGES, GOD IT MAKES YOU SICK. DOES HE HAVE ANY IMPERFECTIONS? I HOPE MURRAY FINDS THEM!!!!!!
however reed might not be so wrong after all with murray its going to be interesting to see
cant really see fed losing to anybody in his side of the draw, i think haas would choke under the pressure as often does and soderling didnt look that impressive against granolers certainly not the guy who blasted his way to the final at the french but maybe he finds his groove, if he reaaly fires on all cylinders then he could give fed a headache but after his interview at the french after the final he doesnt strike me like the guy who really thinks he can beat fed so that will play very well for fed.
Lleyton brought back some memories today. Hopefully, he'll put on a show for another couple of rounds but I'm afraid he's now a bit too old to go all the way.
I can't see Soderling getting past Federer, although is Fed taking a little too much for granted this year?
There'll be no upsetting Murray on today's performance - absolute class!
No 'scourge...', Reed is right, Soderling is the real dark horse of this tournament and could upset a whole lot more than Federer.
Tell me Mr Reed, why can Kohlschreiber push Federer????and why does Soderling pose a threat to Federer???
as far as im concerned, the one u could push federer is not here...im not saying federer wont lose sets but....he will be in the semis at least...
cheers
Yeah, Murray, go ahead (out)
Remember a certain Ivanisevic who won against a certain Tim in the semi-finals in 2001 and went on to win the cup? Not a lot of people believed in him, other than himself. Well now we have a Scot who believes in himself.
WEL IM NAT GEETAN TAY CURRIRED AWAY CAZ A FANK HE WONNAY WAN AT ANTIL 2011.
