Norwich boss Bryan Gunn has seen his transfer kitty boosted by supporters who have waived their right to a relegation rebate.
The Canaries were faced with paying out well over £1million in refunds to season ticket holders entitled to claim a discount after the club dropped into League One.
However, one in three fans had decided to let the club keep the money and the £359,304 that Norwich saved will be matched by director Michael Foulger, giving Gunn nearly an extra £720,000 to spend.
Foulger, a lifelong fan and a director for 13 years, told the Norwich Evening News: "I thought it may have been a bit higher but, at the end of the day, what we still have is 18,000-plus season ticket holders showing their commitment, whether they're taking the rebate or not.
"The money goes straight to the manager's playing budget. You're talking about more than £700,000 in a League One budget."

but 4 or 5 from the blue square would have tried harder than what we had and whats the worst that could have happened - relegation ?
probably because his £350,000 wouldn`t have been enough to buy a decent championship player.
nice of the season ticket holders and nice of foulger but if he has that money to match the fans why couldnt he make it available last season to gunn/roeder to buy players instead of making do with useless loaners...
