Walker ready for special year

Fri 26 Jun, 10:27 AM

Mickey Walker is hoping that his testimonial year at Doncaster Rovers will be another one for fans to celebrate.

Rovers' Director of Football has been at the club throughout the meteoric rise from non-league to the Championship in last 10 years.

His testimonial will be at the Keepmoat Stadium against Wolves on 1st August and there will be events throughout the year but Walker told the Rovers' website that he doesn't want the season to be about him.

He said: "It is going to be an exciting year ahead. I want the fans to enjoy it with me, I don't want it to be about me. My thoughts when I came were to give everything I could to this family club. Now we have got a fabulous set-up and fanbase.

"Maybe I'll stay another 10 years if they'll have me."

  1. donny need another striker because i dont think we have any striker capable of scoring against the likes of newcastle,middlesboro,west-brom etc etc...donny should bring in a proven goal scorer..and if doncaster want to progress they need to hold on to brian stock, matt mills and ritchie wellens no matter how many millions any club is willing to pay..doncaster are renouned for being a selling club, the fun ends if they sell these three players so hopfully sean o'driscoll & john ryan realise this or they are gonna kill this club. two words KEEP HOLD.......................
