Whittaker in mood for goals

Steven Whittaker has vowed to bolster Rangers' defence of their Clydesdale Bank Premier League title by weighing in with more goals next season.

The full-back contributed three strikes last term - against Kilmarnock, Hamilton and former club Hibernian - as Rangers went on to clinch a domestic double.

Whittaker said: "I've managed to chip in with a few last season as well so hopefully that can continue."

Whittaker has been one of Rangers' most versatile players during his two terms at Ibrox and added: "I used to play a lot further forward in right midfield or sometimes centre midfield in the youth team.

"As I progressed into the first team, I found myself at full-back or right midfield and sometimes used on the left, as I have been here.

"I found myself more of a defender when I broke through."

Let's look at this story as it is now­ folks.....there really canna be that much happening at­ Ibpox if you have a full back banging on about scoring­ more goals I know we have signed nobody yet (and by­ "we") I mean Lincoln City but surely there­ should be a bigger news article coming out of the­ place, shouldn't there? Or am I completely­ bonkers?? What does Paul G think as he comments more­ on Celtic stories than he does Rankers. Maybe he is a­ closet timm just waiting to break out from his stifled­ body.........
