Women's World Cup - Elephant replaces octopus
Sat, 25 Jun 22:35:00 2011
Following the death of Paul the Octopus, Nellie the Elephant has been asked to give her predictions for the women's World Cup - and she isn't backing Germany.
Germany-based English octopus Paul, who sadly died shortly after the World Cup, was famous for his predictions as he backed Germany's men to go all the way to the semi-finals, where they lost to Spain, the eventual winners.
Several octopuses have been auditioned for the women's tournament, which is being held in Germany, but some punters feel this Elephant is the wise sage to follow.
However, Nellie's prediction does not make good reading for the hosts as she predicts Canada will win the opening game.
